Jennie Shortridge has been a writer for as long as she can remember, knowing always that it was just something she must do. After a 15-year marketing and advertising career, Jennie turned her skills to freelance writing, publishing articles in regional and national magazines such as Mademoiselle, Natural Living, Glamour, Southwest Art and others.
Lurking deep inside her, however, was a fiction writer waiting to emerge. In 2002, the first chapter of Jennie’s novel, Riding with the Queen, won first place for fiction in DWPC’s Inhouse Writers’ Contest, and shortly thereafter, was accepted for publication by NAL, a division of Penguin Group (USA).
Her second novel for NAL, Eating Heaven, was published in 2005, and she is now at work on a third.
Jennie currently resides in Seattle, WA, but plans to return to Denver and her many friends at DWPC just as soon as she can!
